It’s official — ELTC is bringing Matilda Jr. to the stage this October, and auditions are open now.

This is our biggest production of the 2026 season. We’re holding auditions at Liberty Barn Church in Delaware, Ohio — a stunning 300-seat venue that gives every performer a real stage, a real audience, and a real theatre experience.

Who Can Audition

Matilda Jr. is open to performers ages 10–18 from across the Greater Columbus area, including Westerville, Delaware, Powell, Lewis Center, Sunbury, Polaris, Dublin, and surrounding communities.

How ELTC Auditions Work:

• No upfront audition fee. You don’t pay anything to audition. A participation fee is only charged after you’ve been cast and accepted a role.
• No mandatory parent volunteering. Your family shows up to watch — that’s it.
• Two casting tracks. Matilda Jr. is an audition-based production. We also offer guaranteed-cast workshop shows for performers who want stage experience without the pressure of a competitive audition.
• Prepare a 16 to 32 bar song from a musical theatre selection.  It may not be a song from Matilda. Please bring sheet music, as there will be a an accompanist provided.  No Accapella singing will be allowed .
• Call backs are on Tuesday, August 18, 6 pm to 8:30 pm at the Westerville Library,  at that time there will be a dance call.
• Virtual auditions will be accepted.

About the Show

Matilda Jr. is based on Roald Dahl’s beloved story of a brilliant, book-loving girl who stands up to the adults trying to hold her back. The show features iconic songs, big ensemble numbers, and strong roles for performers of all experience levels.

Liberty Barn Church in Delaware, Ohio seats approximately 300 people and gives our productions a professional performance environment — full staging, lighting, and a real audience experience for every cast member.
